One thing you can do is sign the petition requesting that new background check legislation be considered and voted on by the U.S. Senate as soon as possible. Click HERE to go to the petition website and to sign the petition.
Another thing you can do is phone your senator's office if he voted against S. 649 and ask why. Why did he or she vote against the Manchin-Toomey Amendment to S. 649. Let us know what you find out. Write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper.
Attend gun control rallies in your community.
Donate money to gun control organizations.
Get a gun control sticker and put it on your car or in your window.
Of course the best thing you can do is to not vote for any candidate who voted against this common sense legislation. You will have to wait until next year though but you can bet WE WILL NOT FORGET.
